I have lived in the Weald of Kent for seventeen years and draw inspiration from the surrounding countryside, my own garden and a love of horticulture.
My semi-abstract paintings reflect the shape, colour and textures of nature. I love the movement created by my chosen medium of watercolours and inks on silk and watercolour paper.
The silk is sourced from India, and it was whilst living in the Middle East that I was introduced to the technique of silk painting, and was inspired by the vibrancy of the colours. I use inks to highlight detail and draw the eye through the freedom of my watercolours. By building colours on to one another and using the "wet in wet" technique, I can develop the painting using salt, wax and other marking tools.
Please feel free to get in touch if you have any queries. I look forward to welcoming you to my Open Studio next year.
